Learn to become an Advanced PADI Freediver
Continuing on from the PADI freediver course, our Advanced Freediver will continue your education and skill-set with lots of tips and tricks on how to make improvements in the most effective way.
You can expect to achieve breath-hold times of over 2:30 minutes and explore the depths in Open Water to a depth of at least 20 metres.
How to start the PADI Advanced Freediver Course
Starting our Advanced freediving course begins with completion of the registration form and a medical questionnaire followed by theory including physics and physiology.
Day 1 – Morning Classroom & Theory
The morning starts with Knowledge Development and a theory session to learn about the requirements and techniques used on the Advanced freediver course.
Theory covers subjects such as Frenzel equalisation, advanced breathing techniques physiology, training tables used for CO2/O2 and how you can continue training after you complete the course.
Afternoon Confined Water (pool session)
The afternoon confined water (or pool) session enables you to practice your breath holding under the guidance of our freediving instructor.
You can expect to achieve substantial gains in breath-hold through this course and you will also be introduced to dynamic no fins swimming underwater and have the time to practice.
Day 2 – Morning Confined Water (Pool)
The morning session on day 2 advances your skills on technique and focuses on mastering dynamic apnea using kicks, gliding and improving your streamlining and trim.
Bringing all the aspects together that you have learned on the course so far, will enable you to reach distances underwater of approximately 50 metres.
Afternoon Open Water training dive 1
Of course, the skills learned on the Freediver course will be developed and improved upon in the Advanced course as your course progresses into an Open Water environment at a Koh Tao dive site.
Our Freediving instructor will review your skills and technique on fin kicks, equalisation and help you to refine and progress your level of ability.
Day 3 – Morning Breathing & Flexibility
Understanding the importance of and practicing good breathing techniques and introducing a regular stretching and flexibility session into your routine as a freediver, will enable you to achieve maximum performance.
Our instructor works with you and introduces an overall full body stretching routine and introduces you to Yoga techniques that will help you reach greater performance in your freediving.
Afternoon Open Water training dive 2
Bringing everything together you have learned throughout the course will culminate in you achieving over 20 metres depth on this training dive.
Additionally, you will need to rescue another freediver at a depth of 10 metres and return them to the surface using the proper rescue procedures.
